Annual Meeting: This event is a celebration of the year. It includes presentation of awards to the Small Business Person of the Year, the Chamber’s Outstanding Citizen, the President’s Award and the Distinguished Service Award. This event encompasses the nomination and election of new officers and directors as well as any bylaw changes.
Black Drum World Championship Fishing Tournament: Held each May at Bay Creek Marina in Cape Charles, this tournament reels in the anglers. Cash prizes and trophies are awarded.
Business Before Hours: This informal networking opportunity is held every other month beginning in January at the Chamber from 7:30 until 9 a.m. on the third Wednesday. Coffee, juice and pastries are served, so stop by on your way to work.
Business After Hours: Every other month beginning with February, the Chamber holds this networking opportunity at a member’s business. It offers the chance to get to know other Chamber members in a relaxed setting while learning about the host business and greeting new members. It takes place on the third Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m.
Eggs & Issues: This is a discussion of local and state issues presented by our elected representatives. The entire community is invited to attend, have breakfast and hear about the issues facing our upcoming legislative session.
Harvest Festival: On the first Wednesday in October, the annual Harvest Festival is held in Northampton County. Set along the Chesapeake Bay, the event is an unforgettable afternoon of seafood, fun, festivities and hospitality where local and state business leaders, politicians and Shore folks gather.
Seafood Festival: On the first Wednesday in May, the Chamber holds this annual festival on Chincoteague Island. This event that has become known as a rite of spring on the Shore was established to promote Eastern Shore seafood.
