The Board of Directors of the Eastern Shore of Virginia Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce Robie Marsh as their new Executive Director, effective March 31, 2017. “We are very excited that Robie is returning to the Chamber as our Executive Director. The Chamber board is confident that Robie’s business background, history of his civic accomplishments as a volunteer serving the Eastern Shore community, and raising a young family provides him a unique and valuable perspective and the necessary focus our efforts to create greater economic opportunities for the Eastern Shore community”, said Board President Steve Mallette.
Marsh is a native of the Eastern Shore of Virginia with deep roots and has family that dates back to the late 1600’s on the Shore. He is no stranger to the Chamber of Commerce, having served in the early 2000’s as its Vice President of Marketing and Membership for 4 years, past Co-Chair of the Harvest Festival, past Chair of the Membership Committee, and creator and Co-Chair of the Black Drum World Championship Fishing Tournament. He has also served as a volunteer for the Lex-Rock Chamber of Commerce on their Membership Committee; the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce’s Legislative Committee; and the Reisterstown-Glyndon-Owings Mills Chamber of Commerce as Vice President of their Board of Directors, Chair of their Membership Committee, and member of their Economic Development Committee. Marsh also brings a wealth of knowledge to Chamber members with his past history as a Small Business Banker, Small Business Loan Officer, Financial Advisor to both individuals and businesses and extensive volunteering experience in the communities in which he has served.
Marsh currently serves as a volunteer on many local boards, including Chair of the A-NPDC Economic Development Committee, Past President of the Eastern Shore Christian Businessmen’s Association, member of the United Way of Virginia’s Eastern Shore board, member of the Friends of Historic Cokesbury Church board and member of the Pastor-Parrish Committee at Market Street United Methodist Church. Marsh currently resides in Onancock with his wife, daughter and son. In his free time he thrives in all that the Shore has to offer, especially boating, fishing and hunting.
