OUR MISSION The Eastern
Shore of Virginia Chamber of Commerce represents the business, professional,
agricultural, seafood, tourism and community interests that advance
economic and civic well-being through private sector enterprise.

of the Year.

OUTSTANDING CITIZEN OF THE YEAR This award will be presented
to an individual, who, over a period of at least two years, has consistently
demonstrated excellence in professional and community leadership. This
individual has made or is making significant contributions to the welfare
of the community through involvement and participation and has given

SMALL BUSINESS PERSON OF THE YEAR The individual chosen
should represent an established business with a demonstrated ability
to effectively react to adversity. The nominee should have positively
affected the community through their products and services. The business
should have provided resources and/or funding to scholastic activities
and community related events. The individual should be a civically responsible
employer providing an excellent work environment. |

Amidst the Historical atmosphere, Waterfowl and salt waters of the Chesapeake Bay find some of the "Jewels of the Bay" like Tangier Island, Onancock Harbor, The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel and much much more.

Nominations are now being sought for the Governor's Awards for the Arts 2008, which will be presented by Governor Timothy M. Kaine in September. The awards, which have been presented only three times in Virginia, recognize outstanding lifetime achievement by Virginia artists, arts organization and those who support and encourage the arts. Nominations
may be made by anyone in the commonwealth and must be sent or e-mailed
