Benefits of Chamber membership

  • Customer referrals: Each week the Chamber receives many calls from people asking to be referred to a business to meet their needs. The Chamber recommends only its members to the public. The Chamber’s CC-Assist 8.0 software, designed specifically for chambers of commerce, allows staffers to track these referrals and report to Chamber members upon request.
  • Government relations: Staff members track the many legislative issues affecting the area and make recommendations to the Board of Directors on positions the Chamber needs to support. Hosts Eggs & Issues.
  • Advertising: Spotlight on Business: Each month a different Chamber member is spotlighted with its own table display in the Chamber lobby. This display can be seen by everyone who visits. Brochure/Business Card Display: Displaying your brochure and/or business card at the Chamber building in Melfa at no additional charge provides you the opportunity to reach more than 500 visitors per month.
  • Networking: Business Before Hours & Business After Hours: The Chamber offers two unique opportunities to get to know other Chamber members in a relaxed setting while learning about a host business and greeting new members.
  • Chamber Web site: When people need information, especially about Shore businesses, they call the Chamber or visit the Chamber Web site (http://www.esvachamber.org). The site profiles all Chamber members. As a Chamber member, you receive links to your Web site and e-mail from your listing on the Chamber site.
  • E-newsletter: Keep up-to-date on Chamber programs and events, business news, seminars, regional events and legislative updates with our newsletter, which is published bimonthly.
  • Meeting rooms: An 800-square-foot meeting room, which can seat as many as 50 people, is available for use and is offered free to Chamber members for a limited number of uses each month. Our more formal board room also is available for some meetings.
  • Mailing labels: Purchase mailing labels of the full Chamber membership for only $25. Each member is allowed one free set to start.
  • Magazine subscription: An annual complimentary subscription to Hampton Roads Monthly is included in your membership. Editorial content in this quality lifestyle magazine addresses issues of importance to the community and looks at local trends and the effects on our everyday life. Regular features include review of local political and economic issues, gift guides, home and garden features, travel destinations, leisure activities, coverage of the arts, entertainment, an events calendar and dining guide.
  • E-mail blast: The Chamber takes reservations from as many as five member businesses per month for e-mail blasts on their behalf. Chamber staff creates the e-mails from text and images provided by the businesses. The fee per blast is $50. This service is offered for Chamber members only.
  • Anthem special benefits and programs: Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and HealthKeepers group plans for businesses with 2 to 99 employees include life insurance and Web-based wellness programs. And they don’t cost you a penny extra!
