Experience  China with other Chamber members  and business leaders from the  Eastern Shore of Virginia. This 9 day trip will take you on a memorable trip to the top attractions:  Cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou and Hangzhou to see the  Ming Tombs, Summer Palace, The Great Wall, Yu Gardens , Tiger Hill,  The Bund and more.


Sample Itinerary (from 2015)

Day 1 - April 12 - Leave JFK Airport
Check in at JFK International Airport for an afternoon flight with China Eastern Airlines MU 588 by 4:35pm to Shanghai. Your adventure begins as you fly trans-Pacific aboard a wide cabin jetliner. Cross the International Dateline.

Day 2 - April 13 - Shanghai/Beijing
Pullman Beijing West Wanda - 5 star
No. Jia 18 Shijingshan Road Shijingshan District

Land in Shanghai at 7:30pm for custom then take a transit flight MU 5186 9:15pm and arrive in Beijing at 11:40pm You will be met by your local tour guide at the airport. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 3 - April 14 - Beijing
Visit the 2008 Beijing Olympic venues for the outside views of National Stadium the Bird’s Nest and the National Aquatic Center.  Continue the tour to the Great Wall. En route visit the Jade Factory. The Great Wall, the 4,000- mile long and 2,000 years old construction is said to be the only man-made structure visible by naked eye from the moon. Visit one of the Ming tombs, one of 13 Ming Emperors’ Tombs is fully excavated and open for exploration. Peking Roast Duck dinner is arranged.

Day 4 - April 15 - Beijing
Sightseeing includes Visit the Tian An Men Square, the largest square in the world; the Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City, home of 24 emperors with a total space of 9,999 rooms. Visit the Pearl Market. The Summer Palace, known for many significance such as the Long Corridor with painted gallery, Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill, Seventeen- Arch Bridge and Marble Boat.

Day 5 - April 16 - Beijing/Shanghai/Suzhou
Grand Metropark Hotel Suzhou - 5 star
1355 Jinjihu Avenue, Suzhou Industrial Park

In the morning visit the Temple of Heaven, built in 1420 A.D., where the emperors prayed to the heaven for a good harvest. Flight to Shanghai MU5200 4:20pm/6:25pm, then take a bus riding to Suzhou.

Day 6 - April 17 - Suzhou/Hangzhou
Sanli New Century Grand Hotel Zhejiang - 5 star
No. 538 Shaoxing Road,Xiacheng District

Sightseeing to the Tiger Hill. Visit the Suzhou Silk factory. Continue the tour with the centuries old Lingering Garden. Afternoon visit to the National Embroidery Institute to see silk embroidery, an important local craft with 1,000 years history. Take a bus riding to Hangzhou.
 
Day 7 - April 18 - Hangzhou/Shanghai
Renaissance Shanghai Putuo Hotel - 5 star
No.50 Tongchuan Road, Putuo District

Morning have a boat ride on West Lake with relaxing stopover at jewel-like pagodas. Visit the Longjing Green Tea Plantation. The centuries old Lingyin Temple, with the main feature of the 64.3 ft-high camphor-wood carved Buddha. Continue the bus journey to Shanghai.                   

Day 8 - April 19 - Shanghai
The Bund, a famous waterfront park. Visit the Shanghai Silk Rug Factory. Afternoon enjoy the Yu Garden, a maze of marvelous pavilions, ponds, rocky works and over arching trees. Free time exploration of the old town bazaar. Vvisit the Pudong District.
 
Day 9 - April 20 - Return to JFK Airport
Return flight MU 587 will depart by 11:30am for JFK where you will arrive at 2:15pm on the same day.
