Cape Charles, VA.  February 20, 2024.  “The Women’s Wellness Weekend was created to showcase a sampling of the alternative healing practitioners on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.  It all started when 8 women sat in a candlelit circle to share their “wildest dreams,” according to Wendy Hubbard, one of the co-chairs of the event.

It’s time to plan your next girls weekend in Cape Charles, VA - on the southernmost tip of the Eastern Shore of Virginia and surrounded by the Chesapeake Bay.

Destination:  Women’s Wellness Weekend - April 5-7.

This uplifting and transformative experience is designed to provide women with a unique opportunity to transport them to a state of inner tranquility and unwind them from the rigors of daily life. The Shore's lush, coastal landscape allures many to the area for respite and this event provides a guided experience to achieve healing of the mind, body, spirit and soul surrounded by the area's serene and restorative setting.

From the moment you arrive you’ll know you’ve entered a space of healing and growth. A welcome reception will be followed by a soothing and cleansing sound bath to set the tone for the weekend.

The workshops on offer read like a love letter to the soul:  Breathwork, SoulCollage®, Mindful Self-Compassion, Healing Sound, Yoga, Forest Bathing, and Women’s Body Positivity (https://www.wellnessesva.com/program).  Each session, led by esteemed practitioners from the Eastern Shore, is a step on the path to wellness. Dr. Michele Davidson, the keynote speaker, brings her expertise in psychiatric nursing to address mental health and life transitions, offering insights that promise to enlighten and inspire.  During your free time, you can explore the charming town or treat yourself to optional wellness treatments including massage, Reiki, aromatherapy, and more.

As the weekend draws to a close, a labyrinth walk offers a final meditative journey—a symbol of the path each participant has walked, both literally and metaphorically.

Registration is only open to the first 100 women until 3/29 at wellnessesva.com.  The cost for the weekend is $295 plus meals and lodging (box lunches will be served on Saturday at lunch).  There are a variety of restaurants in Cape Charles if you want to stay local.  Some restaurants strongly recommend reservations.  Click here for more information.  (https://capecharlesvirginiascape.com/how-to-eat-your-way-through-cape-charles/)  If you are interested in renting a golf cart in this golf cart friendly community, one of our major sponsors is Eastern Shore Custom Carts (https://www.escustomcarts.com/).

Let the healing begin in Cape Charles.  Christa Peachy, also co-chair of the weekend, reports tremendously positive feedback about the weekend, noting "countless women have told us they feel overwhelmed with the rigors of daily life and they've said that this retreat weekend is exactly what they need to decompress and rejuvenate.  We’re hoping that this will be the first annual Women’s Wellness Weekend with many more to come!"
