Riverside is observing Mental Health and Stroke Month in May.
Resources available to share information on relating to Mental Health Awareness Month:

Resources available to share information focused on Stroke Month that will include:
· Recognition of signs and symptoms of stroke and the importance of calling 911 immediately using the acronym BE-FAST
o Balance — Is there a sudden loss of balance or coordination?
o Eyes — Is there a sudden loss of vision in one or both eyes or blurry vision?
o Face — Is there sudden weakness on one side of the face?
o Arm — Is there weakness in an arm or leg?
o Speech — Is there sudden difficulty speaking or slurring speech?
o Time — to call 911
· Information about Riverside’s Stroke Program including:
o Comprehensive (RRMC) and Primary Stroke Centers (RDHW, RSMH and RWRH)
o How EMS and the emergency department work together to provide care quickly in a stroke
o Extensive stroke rehabilitation and support services
Timing is crucial for stroke treatment. Unfortunately, many patients don't arrive in time for these advanced treatments, which can complicate their rehabilitation and recovery. Take a few minutes this month to review the symptoms using the BE FAST acronym and to review how to respond appropriately. Learn more about Riverside’s stroke program.
